Books are your best friends

Image
Can u identify this book cover. A famous book, by a famous author. Ok, its the cover of Zahir by Paulo Coelho (This one was the mostly widely used cover, there are other versions too). Now, what I liked in this photo? I was doing some splash shots, but this one came perfect with the lady captured perfectly inside the round splash. I just loved the art work on that cover, beautiful colours but i dont agree much with the authors version of love, that it can happen in an instant and has the power to change the world, that loving ones does not mean that you cannot love others. But i do like his other books. I love reading books like many people do, but there are the rest of them who just hate reading books. I just don't understand how come they never like it. I have always enjoyed reading the way we imagine, visualise each characters in our mind, as we go through the book, I wonder how our imagination works at that time. I do visualise the book as i read (well, i dont know about othe

Raindrops keep falling...

In my view these shots were quite good, cause i couldn't capture the splash effect this good previously. Have to improve, but when i captured these three droplets i was so happy. The background shows the rainy atmosphere. Capturing such moments always makes me happy, cause with plain eyes, this would just go off unnoticed. One of my favorite quotes on rain is, "It takes both rain and sunshine to make a Rainbow." This reminds me of a poem Rhyme of the Rain by Rossiter Johnson How it pours, pours, pours, In a never-ending sheet! How it drives beneath the doors! How it soaks the passer's feet! How it rattles on the shutter! How it rumples up the lawn! How 'twill sigh, and moan, and mutter, From darkness until dawn. .

Ray of Hope

This happens to be one of my favourite shots, i know it isn't that fine, still it holds some emotional attachment to me. Recent times i have been reading all this non-fictional books, and many books have inspired me. I do believe books are the best investment one makes, its a life long friend to us. And from all my pessimistic attitude, i believe i've changed a lot through these books. Now i have changed the way i used to think, more towards a optimistic approach towards life, and i also do firmly believe that 'whatever happens, happens for the best'. One book which changed my thoughts ways the GAME OF LIFE , i just loved reading it. It was a page turner in my life and i refer this books to all people i come across. It always helps us to keep the hope floating in life, and never to waste time worrying, cause most of the time it never happens and we just waste a lot of time. "The world is a book.Every step we take opens up a new page for us" .

Colorful Temples

Image
I just love the atmosphere in the Kerala templea. This picture is of the famous Attukal Temple , which is just a few Km's aways from my house. I just love the architecture of this temple, for the temple is so colorful with the idols depicting the mythology of Kannaki. The fragrant smell of the sandlewood paste surrounds the temple. Its the Pongala, for which this temple is know world wide and no wonder trivandrum celebrates it more grander than the keralian festival onam. The excitement of pongala reflects during the one week of the festival, for the last few years that i have stayed in this place, i cherished the different memories during the pongala. Yesterday the new 7 wonders of the world were declared. I voted for Machu picchu, A ngkor Wat, Taj, Chirst of redeemer, Statues of easter island, Stonehenge & the Pyramids. Why Angkor Wat didn't make it to the list i wonder. Well, the Taj and Great wall of China would surely make it cause most of the people in these two pl

Friends are forever

Image
Do you believe that the friends we make during our lifetime remain friends with us forever. Actually till now how many friends have we made, and how do we try to keep connected with them. Friendship too changes as time changes. First we make some friends during our school days, then as we go to college we make new friends there, during that phase sometimes we would say they are our best friends, but when we enter work place, the contact with college friends and school friends lessen and a new set of friends are made. Friends keep changing at every stage of our life. And finally it would be just a very few friends who stay with us maybe throughout our life. With sites like orkut, we found our previous classmates, the excitement to know them would be there for a few days or months, and finally it would end like it started. This below forward i found on the net. well, just read it,doesn't this sound similar to our thoughts. Atleast thats how i thought many times. "HOW FRIENDSHIP

Hello Yellow !!!

Image
Often when i'm in some discussion related to colors and when i say that yellow is my favorite color, everyone would ask how can you like yellow. Maybe it doesn't list anywhere in their top list, but i just love each and every shades of yellow. Next would be white, green and blue. The color yellow actually was previously associated with the color worn by criminals but was chosen by the Buddhist faith as a symbol of humility and separation from a materialistic society. Therefore it is said to signify renunciation and being the color of earth, it is also a symbol of the equanimity of the earth. Recently there was this forward doing rounds in the net, asking a person some additions, and finally to name a color and tool, many end up saying red hammer, well since yellow was my favourite, red never came into picture, neither did i say hammer, so i belonged to the fewer 2% of the population. Where ever yellow is there i surely pay attention. Everyone has their choice and my vote goes t
